76ers officially name assistant coaches

The 76ers officially announced several coaching staff additions on Thursday.

Jim O'Brien and Kevin Young were named assistant coaches.

O'Brien was the head coach of the Sixers in the 2004-05 season and is a former head coach of the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers.

A product of Roman Catholic High School and St. Joseph's University, O'Brien most recently served as an assistant with the Dallas Mavericks in 2012-2013.

Young was the head coach of the Sixers' NBA Development League affiliate the Delaware 87ers the last two seasons.

Former NBA player Alvin Williams, who attended Germantown Academy and Villanova, and John Bryant have been named as player development coaches.
