Joel Embiid’s status for the Philadelphia 76ers’ season-opener against the Boston Celtics on October 22nd remains a mystery. However, Brian Windhorst’s latest update may have given more clarity on the matter.
Windhorst reported on ESPN’s “The Hoop Collective” podcast Monday that the 76ers’ front office and coaching staff are optimistic about Embiid’s recovery. While Windhorst noted that Philadelphia’s positivity is a good sign, there is still no set timetable for his return. Embiid is yet to play in the preseason as he continues to rehab his left knee after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on April 11th.
