In general, I don’t expect the Philadelphia 76ers to be major players at the trade deadline. They’re a young team building towards the future, so giving up future assets for immediate success isn’t always in Bryan Colangelo’s best interest.
That doesn’t mean there won’t be decent trade opportunities out there. Even with Lou Williams catching fire in L.A., there’s no guarantee the Clippers keep him. Teams like the Grizzlies and Heat will be looking to shed contracts too, while Cleveland is obviously in the market for some upgrades.
The Sixers might not fit into all those scenarios, but there are clearly deals to be made.
