With Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz taking on ball handling duties in the starting rotation, both T.J. McConnell and the returning Jerryd Bayless will be forced to duke it out for minutes off the bench — and both bring distinct, yet entirely different, skill sets to the table.
In terms of both skill and fit, Bayless holds the upper hand. He’s a more reliable 3-point shooter who can provide another scoring punch in the second unit while working off the ball alongside the likes of Dario Saric.
