Ashleigh Barty won the women’s singles title Jan. 29, becoming the first Australian woman to claim a singles title at the event in 44 years. Then, Jan. 30, Rafael Nadal overcame a two-set deficit to beat Daniil Medvedev and claimed his record-breaking 21st grand slam title.
But beyond the talent on display over the weekend’s entertaining finals, another name loomed large in my mind over the previous fortnight: Novak Djokovic. The No. 1 Men’s player in the world right now, and quite possibly the greatest to ever play the game.
I’m not afraid to say it: I’m a Novak Djokovic hater.
