Wisconsin men's hockey holds on to defeat Penn State

Guy Gadowsky wanted to give one of his goaltenders the experience of playing on back-to-back nights in preparation for the Big Ten Tournament.

Shortly into the second period of Penn State’s 4-3 loss to Wisconsin, that practice was ended prematurely.

After surrendering four goals on 13 shots, starting netminder Eamon McAdam was pulled in favor of Chris Funkey.

Although the Nittany Lions (20-10-4, 10-7-1-1 Big Ten) nearly mounted a third period comeback, the Badgers (7-16-8, 2-11-4-2) held on thanks to the play of freshman goalie Matt Jurusik.

Kenny Brooks got the Lions on the board early.
