The Kansas City Chiefs’ massive victory in Week 1 against the New England Patriots appears to be a Pyrrhic one.
All signs point to the injury suffered by S Eric Berry in the game to be a significant one to his Achilles, which would end his season after less than one full game. There’s no other way to state it: The loss would be a massive one for the Chiefs.
Berry fills a role in that defense that no other player on the roster can handle by himself. Those are always the toughest players to lose, especially when they also fill such a leadership void, as Berry does.
