BLACKSBURG – In the end, a kid from nearby Galax stole the show at the battle for the 757.

Junior tailback Steven Peoples scored three touchdowns to lead No. 13 Virginia Tech past Old Dominion 38-0 on Saturday afternoon at a sold-out Lane Stadium.

The Hokies (4-0), who have about a dozen players on their roster from the Hampton Roads area that ODU calls home, got 135 total yards from Peoples, a lightly recruited, converted fullback.

“There’s always a lot of talk about the 757 and all them,” Peoples said. “The local guy gets to shine today.
