Penn State struggled through much of the early part of the year. But late in the season, the Nittany Lions went on a hot streak and had several key contributors to the improved play and three have been recognized for their efforts.
Aurelia Meijer, Brooke Birosik, and Skyler Fretz were named to the 2015 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Mideast All-Region team on Monday. The announcement came in the afternoon from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Birosik had a breakout junior year in 2015. She finished as the Lions' leading scorer after finding the back of the cage 11 times and adding on three more assists for a 25-point season.
