Two more Penn Staters earned their way to Rio for the 2016 Summer Olympics this August. This past Friday, Joe Kovaks and Darrell Hill placed second and third in the shot put at the U.S. Track & Field Olympics Trials in Eugene, Oregon. Kovaks narrowly missed the Olympics four years ago when he placed fourth at the trials, but since became the world’s top-ranked shot put athlete in 2015. Hill finished second at the 2015 NCAA National Championships and set a personal best at the trials to qualify.

Also in Rio: Penn State men’s volleyball will be well represented at the Summer Games with four former-student-athletes split between two countries.
