Women’s Lacrosse
The women’s lacrosse team qualified for the NCAA tournament for the second straight year despite falling to Northwestern 14-12 in last weekend’s Big Ten championship game. Gretchen Gilmore scored five goals in the game, but a late Nittany Lions rally fell short. Penn State will play its first round game against James Madison today at 3:00pm. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Midfielder Kristin O’Neill (45 goals, 7 assists) earned second-team All American honors this week from USA Lacrosse, with Ellie Hollin, Gretchen Gilmore, Sammy Dupcak, and Kayla Abernathy earning honorable mention.
