Following an up-and-down regular season, the baseball team entered the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 8 seed. Penn State took its first round contest with Illinois 8-4 on Wednesday. Adam Cecere hit a two-run homer in the sixth and Travis Luensmann allowed only one run in five innings to pace the Nittany Lions.
Penn State followed up with another impressive 9-5 win over Michigan last night. Bryce Molinaro’s grand slam in the eighth inning provided the winning margin to keep the Nittany Lions on the winner’s side of the bracket.
