Penn State head coach Guy Gadowsky is in his 26th season as a coach. He’s spent time at three different programs, totaled seven NCAA Tournament appearances and has led hundreds of skilled players on his rosters throughout the years.
Yet, he’s never coached a smoother skater than defenseman Jackson Smith.
“When you put (that skating) on a 6-foot-4 frame of a thoroughbred, it looks really good,” Gadowsky said. “... Some people would tell you that it’s natural. Like sometimes, no matter how much you practice, you either have it or you don’t. So, some of it is just a gift.
