If there’s one thing coach Carolyn Kieger has preached so far this season, it’s utilizing her bench. The blue and white have an emphasis on going 12 deep and giving any player the ability to step up when they’re needed.
“It’s next woman up, and I think everybody on the bench is ready to go and lock in when their numbers called,” Kieger said. “I think that’s what’s going to be special about this group is any given night, somebody can step up.”
In Penn State’s 90-62 Wednesday morning victory over Coppin State, that somebody was Shaelyn Steele.
