Add another award to Carl Nassib's list of accomplishments, as he has officially been named the winner of the 2015 Rotary Lombardi Award. The Lombardi Award is given annually to the best offensive lineman, defensive lineman or linebacker, who also best exemplifies the discipline of football legend, Vince Lombardi.
Nassib beat out fellow finalists Joey Bosa (Ohio State), Garrrett Myles (Texas A&M) and Shaq Lawson (Clemson). Those are three of the very best players in college football, not just three of the best linemen/linebackers. The fact that Carl Nassib won this award ahead of them, and absolutely deserved to do so, is nothing short of incredible, and is something that not even his former head coach saw coming.
