Faced with a double-header in the nation’s capital, No. 5 Penn State started the day off quickly and never let up to advance to 9-1 on the season and a perfect 3-0 on the weekend.
Playing without senior Nia Reed, Buffalo was the first test for the Nittany Lions on Saturday.
Without Reed in the lineup, it was the freshman group who stepped up in a big way to blow Penn State past the Bulls without much of an issue.
Leading the charge offensively for the Nittany Lions was freshman Allyson Cathey, who made her first start in the blue and white and became a crucial part of Penn State’s straight sets victory.
