Penn State women's soccer secures 2-1 win against Northwestern

Penn State took home a 2-1 win against Northwestern on Sunday at Martin Stadium, despite the late challenges it faced.

From the first whistle, the Wildcats kept possession of the ball, leaving few opportunities for the Nittany Lions. With the majority of play being contained within Penn State’s half of the field, goalkeeper Mackenzie Gress was tested early.

Quick passing through the midfield, however, created a huge breakthrough in the opening minutes for the blue and white.

With a pass into the 18-yard box from Aubrey Kulpa, senior forward Amelia White nailed a left-footed strike into the back of the net to put Penn State up 1-0 in the 12th minute.
