Penn State women's hockey holds off RIT, finishes sweep in CHA quarterfinals

The sweep looked almost too easy.

Heading into the third period exhibiting dominant play on both ends, Penn State was in a prime position to knock out two-time defending CHA champions RIT out of the playoffs.

After a wild third period fight from the Tigers, the Nittany Lions were grateful to hold on and finish the series with a 3-2 victory.

"Well, if you're going to knock off [RIT], you got a pretty good sense you're going to take a pretty big punch in the third period," coach Josh Brandwene said.
