Penn State took the court for the opening tipoff as Gracie Merkle lined up against Bucknell’s center for the second straight season opener.
This time, however, it wasn’t in the Bryce Jordan Center like the last 28 home season openers have been. It was in Rec Hall, the historic home of the Lady Lions.
In a new environment with a new star on its squad, Penn State defeated Bucknell 83-55 behind Kiyomi McMiller’s 27 points.
While the Lady Lions struggled to get things going at times as they faced several deficits throughout the first half, they got things going in the second half.
