Two former Penn State athletes, swimmer Ally McHugh and wrestler Jason Nolf, were named recipients of the Big Ten's most exclusive award — the Big Ten Medal of Honor.

The award, which recognizes excellence in both academics and athletics, is given to one male and one female athlete in each graduating class per school.

McHugh was the first swimmer in Penn State history to win an individual NCAA title, winning gold in the 1650 freestyle and finished as a two-time All-American after picking up a silver medal in the same event in 2018.
