Penn State recruit Aeneas Hawkins 'will be ready to compete'; decisions loom for final spots in '18 class, and more

Today's Penn State football news headlines feature a breakdown of four-star defensive tackle recruit Aeneas Hawkins and a look at where the Lions go from here with limited spots left in their 2018 class.

Hawkins, a four-star prospect from Archbishop Moeller in Cincinnati, Ohio, was commit No. 23 and the third defensive tackle in Penn State's 2018 recruiting class. He checks in as the No. 23 defensive tackle and No. 284 player in the country in the 247Sports composite rankings. Hawkins comes from a football pedigree and plays at a high level in Ohio, which are points in his favor, according to Scout's Bill Greene, who wrote:

"I think Aeneas Hawkins fits perfectly in the Nittany Lion 4-3 defense, and will provide an inside pass rush working as a 3-technique tackle.
