With a spot in the NCAA tournament on the line, Penn State battled Daemen on the road in a play-in game for the No. 7 seed and a chance to play No. 2 Hawaii in the quarterfinals.
The blue and white continued to build on its momentum this postseason with a sweep over Daemen in the play-in game, marking the fifth straight sweep by coach Mark Pavlik’s team.
The Nittany Lions got things going early in the first set, jumping out to a 6-2 lead due to the offense and defense from Gaige Gabriel.
However, the Wildcats settled down after early mistakes in the set.
