Once on the volleyball court in blue and white Penn State uniforms, three Penn State alumni added red to the color combination when they played for the USA National Team this summer.
Outside hitters Matt Anderson and Aaron Russell, as well as middle blocker Max Holt took their volleyball careers at Penn State to the next level when they went to play professionally overseas.
In 2008, the Nittany Lions won a national championship, garnering attention for the players on the team as well as attention from young volleyball players around the country.
Anderson, one of the Lions’ leading hitters on the 2008 team, was presented with the opportunity to advance his career after the championship.
