Following a dominant out-of-conference win against King’s College on Senior Day, the Nittany Lions traveled to California for the first time since 2017 to face UCLA on Friday night. Despite coming off a three-game win streak, the Nittany Lions fell 2-0 to the Bruins.
Coach Jeff Cook played the 4-4-2 formation, with redshirt freshman Jonathan Evans starting in goal for the Nittany Lions. Evans, who has impressed in his first season of collegiate play, was recently named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for his strong performances.
The match opened as a battle for possession, with both Penn State and UCLA looking to dictate the tempo early.
