Penn State men’s lacrosse advances to first ever Big Ten Tournament championship game with dominant win over Rutgers

For the first time in program history, Penn State will play for a Big Ten Tournament championship.

The Nittany Lions started their march toward the title on the right foot, defeating Rutgers for a second time in five days by a score of 18-6 for their first Big Ten postseason win.

Before this victory, Penn State was one of two teams in the conference that had not participated in the championship game since the tournament’s inception in 2015. Now, Michigan is the lone team without an appearance.

The Big Ten has typically been dictated by lacrosse powerhouses Maryland and Johns Hopkins.
