After a thriller Friday night ending in an Aiden Fink overtime winner gave Penn State its first win of the weekend against Long Island, Hockey Valley was hungry for its first home series sweep of the year.
The Nittany Lions completed the sweep over the Sharks Saturday night, defeating them 3-0.
Coach Guy Gadowsky reiterated his team’s need to “start with a sense of urgency right when the puck drops” after Friday’s game, after letting up the first goal in all but one of the blue and white’s contests.
That lesson got through on Saturday night, after the Nittany Lions came out hot and got rewarded for it less than six minutes in.
