After a gutsy performance to make the top-five at the NCAA Washington regional last Wednesday, Penn State men’s golf will tee off in its first NCAA Championship Friday since 2010.
Penn State sat in fourth place — a good position to be one of the five of 14 teams in the field to advance — after the second of three rounds at the Washington regional. However, four teams were within six strokes of the nine-seed Nittany Lions before the start of the final round, putting pressure on the golfers from Happy Valley to hold it together down the stretch.
