Penn State men's basketball falls at George Washington

Along with so many shots in the game itself, a three-game winning streak bounced off the rim.

Penn State (5-3) left points off the board in a number of ways at George Washington (8-1) on Tuesday night, but the seven failed free throw attempts expanded the gap from one score to a 76-66 loss.

The Nittany Lions lost for the first time in two weeks as they hit nine of 16 free throw attempts, compared to 21 of 28 for the Colonials. The Lions also shot just 26.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Point guard Shep Garner led the team in scoring with 22 points, including three 3-point shots.
