Penn State men’s basketball can’t complete comeback, falls to Alabama in final road nonconference game | Rapid reaction

Penn State didn’t get the early Christmas gift it headed to the south in need of.

Two days after surviving on the road against Duquesne, the Nittany Lions couldn’t build off a promising start and lost to Alabama on the road by a final of 73-64.

Pat Chambers went with a different lineup for much of the second half as he once again had to deal with foul trouble and offensive struggles from the freshmen guards.

Myreon Jones and Trent Buttrick saw extended action and helped Penn State crawl out of a 10-point deficit, but the Nittany Lions couldn’t get enough stops on the defensive end in the final minutes of the game.
