Penn State Football: Veteran linebacker transferring to UMass

Between departures to the NFL and players leaving the program for other reasons, Penn State football could face some depth issues in 2019, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. With the new NCAA transfer portal making players’ intentions to leave more transparent, several Nittany Lions have chosen to leave Happy Valley and head elsewhere.

The latest player to leave announced his intentions Saturday on Twitter. Veteran linebacker Jarvis Miller announced that he’s leaving Penn State and going to play at UMass- Amherst. Miller is considered a graduate transfer, meaning that he has one year of college football eligibility remaining and he won’t have to sit out a year before seeing the field.
