Penn State Football: Safety Ayron Monroe announces transfer

With the introduction of the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason, several players throughout the college football landscape have already switched teams, while others just tested the waters before ultimately returning to their original teams. Penn State lost a few players to the portal this offseason with the latest being safety Ayron Monroe.

Monroe announced on Thursday that he would be staying in Pennsylvania, but heading east of Happy Valley. The fifth-year senior has decided to transfer to Temple.

He technically has to sit out a year before taking the field, but could apply for a waiver. When he does get on the field, he’ll have one year of eligibility remaining with the Owls.
