Special teams — an often overlooked but important piece of a football team — is an area that Penn State has really struggled at in recent years. Dating back to the times of NCAA sanctions, the Nittany Lions have had to piece together parts on special teams. Things have improved, but there is always room for even greater improvement. Trying to look for improvement, the Nittany Lions have added an experienced kicker to the mix.
Jordan Stout, the former kicker at Virginia Tech, formally transferred to Penn State over the weekend. He had announced his plans to leave the Hokies earlier this offseason when he entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
