KJ Hamler blossomed into a legitimate star for Penn State football in 2018. The Nittany Lions had to find a replacement for departed top receiver DaeSean Hamilton, and Hamler was waiting in the wings ready to step up.
A member of the 2017 recruiting class, Hamler was given a red shirt during his first year with the Nittany Lions. The four-star recruit from IMG Academy was a very intriguing prospect thanks to his blazing speed and playmaking ability.
Right from the start of the season Hamler made his prescense felt. In his first collegiate game, he caught three passes for 67 yards, including a 46-yard catch and the game-tying touchdown at the end of regulation.
