A 27-24 loss at Michigan State last year put the nails in Penn State Football’s playoff coffin in 2017. Trace McSorley ended up struggling in the rain tossing three interceptions and put up a rare inconsistent performance. The senior quarterback and the rest of the Nittany Lions will be looking to avenge that loss at home against the Spartans.
The bye week gave both Penn State units a chance to refresh and maybe even hit the reset button to an extent. The Big Ten is highly competitive at the top, and PSU needs to be at that level if it wants even a prayer of getting to the ever-elusive playoffs.
