Penn State set out to snap its four-game losing streak and keep its postseason hopes alive against No. 11 Iowa on Friday night. An undefeated streak had to be broken as the Nittany Lions entered the game a perfect 5-0 at home, while the Hawkeyes were undefeated on the road at 3-0.
To pull off the upset win, the blue and white would have to contain the nation’s leading scorer, Dionne van Aaslum, who had 19 goals entering the game. Penn State also desperately needed its offense to have a breakout performance against one of the best defenses in the country.
