Penn State fencing to travel for NAC in Kansas City, gaining confidence and experience on a national level

Several Nittany Lions will be fencing in Kansas City, Missouri this weekend on a national stage. But Penn State fencing coach Wes Glon said most of the athletes on his team are used to the spotlight.

Glon said his team will not struggle to fence in the national tournament because, as Division-1 athletes, they have been competing in similar tournaments from a very young age.

“They are accustomed to this,” Glon said. “Most of them have competed at national tournaments since they were very young and continue to do this for most of their lives.”

Ten fencers from the team will travel to compete in the Junior Cadet North American Cup, a major tournament spanning four days starting Friday and ending Monday.
