After having to cancel their game against Wisconsin last weekend and their road contest at Ohio State which would have been played tonight, Penn State’s basketball team announced that they will pause all team activities due to positive COVID-19 results amongst Tier 1 personnel. As a result, upcoming home games against Michigan (January 9th) and Rutgers (January 12th) have been postponed.
The NCAA defines Tier 1 personnel as “the highest exposure tier and consists of student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers and physical therapists, medical staff, equipment staff and officials.”
Penn State will work with the Big Ten conference to figure out rescheduling options for the now four games in a row they will postpone.
