A matchup with one of college basketball’s most storied programs waits head coach Patrick Chambers and Penn State basketball next season. The Nittany Lions will play against the Georgetown Hoyas for the first time in 15 years.
The matchup will be part of the 20190 Gavitt Tipoff Games. The series of college basketball games, featuring the Big Ten and the Big East, are named after former Big East Conference commissioner and former Providence College basketball coach, Dave Gavitt.
An announcement of the eight games in this year’s series came via Twitter on Tuesday from CBS college basketball insider Jon Rothstein.
