After reaching the final last season on an unexpected Cinderella-esque run, Penn State looked to do the same in 2025 as it kicked off Big Ten Tournament play Wednesday versus the fifth-seeded Washington Huskies.
Quality pitching and a consistent offense led the blue and white to a 5-2 victory in its first pool play matchup.
All-Big Ten second team selection Max Banks got the start for the Huskies, but the Nittany Lions attacked him early. Junior Jesse Jaconski put Penn State on the board first in the top of the first with an RBI single to left, scoring junior Paxton Kling for a 1-0 lead.
