Penn State baseball draft profile | Ryan DeSanto’s funky delivery a potential game changer

Entering the 2025 season, Ryan DeSanto was considered the leader of the pack for the “Friday starter” role, or ace pitcher for Penn State.

DeSanto lived up to those expectations set by coach Mike Gambino with a dominant season, boosting his draft stock and putting him in a legitimate position to go to the MLB after his junior year.

The left-hander held steady numbers throughout all three seasons, two with Saint Joseph’s before playing one year at Penn State. He threw 72.2 innings across 15 starts amounting to a 3.96 ERA in his lone year with the Nittany Lions.
