Penn State baseball blows lead, falls to Grand Canyon in walk-off fashion

This season, Penn State baseball has been plagued by poor bullpen pitching.

Friday night followed suit, as the Nittany lost 8-7 on a walk-off sacrifice fly to Grand Canyon University.

“I thought our guys played really, really hard," coach Rob Cooper said. "I thought our guys competed. We swung the bats really well, played great defense, and I thought we did a great job all the way around."

Center fielder Preston Pavlica hit the long fly ball to right field, which was fielded cleanly by freshman Curtis Robinson. His powerful throw was on-target, but reached home well after infielder Kona Quiggle trotted across the plate to end the game and complete the comeback for the Antelopes.
