A troop of athletes and coaches gathered on the state Capitol Rotunda steps on Monday behind a table holding their bling from the various championships they had a hand in winning this past year to showcase Penn State athletics.
The university's athletic director Sandy Barbour called the one team national championship, six individual national championships. and nine conference championships those trophies represented only part of the story about the "comprehensive excellence" attained by Penn State's athletic program.
