Penn State’s offensive line struggles this past season were well documented and another early enrollee that will help to address a position group in considerable need is 3-star offensive tackle Alex Gellerstedt. One of four offensive lineman in the 2016 recruiting class, the Ohio native’s offer sheet included the likes of Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and West Virginia before he somewhat unexpectedly committed to Penn State in May 2015.
Gellerstedt received All-Ohio accolades as a senior at Dublin Coffman High School and was ranked as one of the top offensive tackle prospects in neighboring Ohio.
