Only Zack Mills’ 69-yard Touchdown Against Ohio State Until Penn State Football

It was looking bleak for the Nittany Lions in the fall of 2001. The team was looking to bounce back after a 5-7 record in 2000, only to start the year 0-4. Thankfully, the team was able to end their losing skid with a 38-35 upset of #22 Northwestern, but would have their hands full with Ohio State visiting the following week.

However, before much thought could be put into a second consecutive victory, the Buckeyes raced out to a 27-9 lead as Penn State couldn’t find answers on either side of the ball.

That was, until quarterback Zack Mills created a spark to ignite one of the most memorable comebacks in program history.
