Redshirt freshman Nick Tarburton came to Happy Valley as the sixth-ranked player in Pennsylvania and a consensus four-star recruit. The 6’3’’ linebacker converted to defensive end at Penn State, and appeared in two games in 2018, allowing him to retain his redshirt.
Tarburton saw game action against both Appalachian State and Pitt, and was also named Scout Team Defensive Player of the Week for both the Indiana and Wisconsin games. He should expect more playing time as a part of the defensive end rotation in 2019.
