Only Matt Knizner’s Touchdown Pass vs. Pitt Away From Penn State Football

In 82 days, Penn State will take the field for the first time and is viewed as a legitimate contender to win its first national title since 1986.

Back in 1986, Penn State entered the year with a real quarterback controversy. John Shaffer and Matt Knizner battled it out for the starting job with the 1985 starter Shaffer narrowly regaining his starting spot.
