Only Evan Royster Until Penn State Football

No current Penn Stater wears No. 22, so it’s back to your favorite Virginia native and standout running back Evan Royster.

Royster joined the Nittany Lions in 2006, redshirting his first year. In 2007, he rushed for 513 yards and five touchdowns as the backup for senior Rodney Kinlaw. His sophomore year, Royster took over the starting job for good, posting his highest yardage total with 1, 236 yards and 12 scores, as Penn State won the Big Ten. His junior and senior years resulted in smaller numbers, but Royster still had over 1,000 yards in each season, including finishing second in the conference in 2009.
