He redshirted in 2017, but worked his way into the special teams rotation as a redshirt freshman in 2018. For his work, he was named the team’s Scout Team Special Teams Player of the Year.
Also, according to Journey Brown, Hartlaub was one of three Nittany Lions to run a sub-4.3 (*unofficial*) this offseason.
