One of my favorite go-to predictions in my Five Things I Know I Know series is that Penn State’s defense will get 50 sacks. While that hasn’t happened during the James Franklin era, they came very close in 2023 when the defense totaled 49 behind the likes of Chop Robinson, Adisa Isaac, and Abdul Carter.
While those guys received the majority of the accolades — all making first-team All-B1G that season — the 49 sack total was a complete team effort. Weirdly enough, just 16 sacks came from Isaac, Chop, and Abdul, with the rest of the 33 coming from the rest of the defense.
