A day after they only put one runner across in game two of its series at Iowa, Penn State’s offense came back to life in Sundays series finale at Bob Pearl Field.
The Nittany Lions (26-18, 13-4) offense exploded for 14 hits en route to a 11-3 win over the Hawkeyes (13-32, 3-14).
Coach Amanda Lehotak’s team struck first in the top of the first when Lexi Knief started off the scoring with a single to left that drove in Macy Jones. Knief herself would come around to score a batter later when Alyssa VanDerveer doubled down the left field line to make it 2-0 in favor of the Lions.
